TABITHA SMITH
From the time she could walk, Tabitha was smitten with horses thanks to her mother’s introduction. Born in Germany, she wasted no time and was riding by age three. She knew early on that the horse world would be her life. If you have met Tabitha, you know that it is true.
While her riding began in the English world, she switched to western riding shortly before moving to the United States with her dad at age 11. While always living on ranches, day working and making great using horses has been the foundation, Tabitha has been pulled towards competing in cow horse, reining, versatility ranch horse, ranch riding, barrels, and now roping. Even though she lives, eats and breathes the western industry her style of riding definitely reflects her dressage roots. Her belief in having a “solid foundation” in everything she does led her to establishing her own company; “Excel Supplements” (a well known equine supplement company), establishing a breeding program, being recognized as a AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder and providing horse-and-rider training as well as being an exhibitor herself. When something doesn’t work or she feels off balance, she never accepts it. She gets down to the root cause. She works it out, bats it around, and, if needed, turns it upside down until she finds a solution that works.
Then, true to herself, she shares.
Always focused on her rider and constant desire to improve she has learned from top individuals in the equine industry over the years. Talking about their struggles with positive growth, body and mental health roadblocks, along with the ability to successfully set and achieve goals, she realized she was no different. But what to do about it?
After identifying her own roadblocks, she aligned herself with experts and found her solutions to continue her ride. But what about the others?
Now, she shares.
